Systemism is a methodology for generating learning systems.  Learning systems are dynamic frameworks put in place as an enhancement of traditional approaches to education, training and consulting. Learning systems do not change the things we do, they change the way we do them.  They get everyone on the same page dynamically and contributively moving forward.

Learning systems methodology can use information from any source or sources and organize it into a standard framework that maximizes understanding.  Our natural understanding comes from organizing and stacking our experiences, reflecting on those experiences, and using the knowledge we acquire from them.

We all learn a lot in our lives, both formally and informally, but how do our brains retain and sort it all out so that it is at our disposal when we need it. Seeing knowledge as a jumble or jumbles really doesn’t make a lot of sense. There has to be some sort of knowledge system in our brains. Everything in nature is a system, so why should our brains be any different.

Our brains absorb information and create knowledge that we can manipulate and use for whatever purpose we want. I believe this is done in the same way by each one of us. We are all different in what we know, but we are all the same in how we know it. Systemism is based on this premise.

Learning systems are designed and used by a group of participants for their own learning. One group creating learning systems to be used by another group doesn’t work very well. In my work as a teacher I would facilitate the building of learning systems by students to facilitate learning on various topics. In my work as a training program design facilitator I would get all the participating teachers and industry advisors together as a team to create, use and update learning systems for programs.

Influencers (teachers, coaches, facilitators, mentors, leaders, etc.)  can use learning systems for training and consulting work. Those learning systems are organized and stacked for different purposes so that they can be brought into play as needed in the same way our brains do it. It is a natural approach to learning and development.  Each learning system is a dynamic creation. It is continuously adapted as  new understanding is achieved.
